To match the OEM Pole functionality, you need to have the following:
1 x 1 Inch Schedule 40 PVC pipe, 16 5/8 Inch in Length
2 x Adapters (one for the top of the PVC Pipe and 1 for the Bottom of the PVC Pipe

Other lengths of PVC Pipe can be used to get custom shelf Heights.

Some Local hardware Stores will cut PVC pipe for you.

FormuFit makes Furniture Grade Schedule 40 PVC Pipe of different sizes and colors.

Discounted Blemished ones are sometimes available, check the listing.
(Blemished means that they have cosmetic Issues such as major dents, pits, discolorations)
